Welcome Committee Chair Needed

There is currently an opening for leading the Welcome Committee for The Villages of Woodland Springs. This Committee strives to provide a personalized welcome to each new homeowner in the neighborhood by distributing welcome information to new residents.

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity that allows you to help and meet new people. Fulfilling this role means a commitment to:

  • Develop a small group of volunteers
  • Meet periodically to discuss progress and goals
  • Utilize committee funds to acquire welcome kit materials
  • Distribute welcome kits to new homeowners on a frequent basis

Safety & Security Committee Update

The Safety & Security Committee met on Monday, August 20, 2007. Discussions centered around how the Safety & Security Committee could best impact security of the neighborhood. Also discussed was the issue of gang or gang-related problems in the area. Marc Valenti agree to look for other sources for law enforcement involvement from such entities as the Sheriff’s Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Precinct Constable’s Office. Reports are to be given at the next meeting, which will be help on September 17, 2007.

The SSC would like to welcome aboard new committee member Fred Weeks. Fred volunteered to become a member of the Safety & Security Committee and met with David and Marc briefly at the last Advisory Council meeting. Fred has experience working with safety issues, including forming a diving rescue team for a local area lake.
