North Fort Worth Alliance Updates

By Shirley Gansser

The North Fort Worth Alliance consists of representatives and concerned citizens from 22 different communities. Its boundaries
are north of Tarrant Parkway to the Speedway and west of 377 to
I-35. The Alliance was formed in 2005, to unite the North Fort Worth
area in one voice to address and influence issues that affect the
“quality of the life” of its residents.

The NFWA has been successful influencing numerous zoning
issues that were considered to be against the best interests of the
residents, successfully opposed the proposed F-5 training at the
Alliance airport, raised the awareness of the need for a hospital in
North Fort Worth, as well as many other issues of concern.
The biggest issue facing North Fort Worth currently is transportation – lack of adequate roads, lack of public transportation (bus and rail), and even bike paths/trails. The Alliance is constantly working on keeping these issues in front of governmental agencies at all levels.

The Alliance meets on the third Saturday of each month at 9:00 am
at the Fellowship of the Parks Church on Beach Street. All residents
of North Fort Worth are welcome to participate.
