City of Fort Worth Stage 1 Drought Contingency and Emergency Water Management Plan
Dear VOWS Residents,
Please be advised that the City of Fort Worth has initiated Stage 1 of its Drought Contingency and Emergency Water Management Plan.
Some of the Stage 1 drought restrictions include, but are not limited to:
- Outdoor watering is limited to twice per week scheduling:
- No watering on Mondays
- Non-residential locations may only water on Tuesdays and Fridays
- Residences ending in even number may only water on Wednesdays and Saturdays
- Residences ending in an odd number may only water on Thursdays and Sundays
- Water may not run off the property more than 50 feet
- Hosing of paved areas is prohibited
- Hosing of buildings is prohibited, except for fire protection or surface preparation prior to painting
- Foundations may be watered up to two hours on any day, by hand, soaker hose, or drip irrigation
- Establishing of new turf is strongly discouraged
Also keep in mind that year round City of Fort Worth rules are still in effect during Stage 1. They are; no watering between 10am and 6pm, no operating a broken system (broken sprinkler head, pipe, etc.), no watering hard surfaces, and no watering during a precipitation event.
As a general reminder, all properties of The Villages of Woodland Springs Community are located within the City of Fort Worth city limits.
