Neighborhood Award Nominations

Who are the “unsung heroes” in your neighborhood?

Please take a minute during this busy holiday season and thoughtfully consider those who tirelessly serve your community. The City of Fort Worth is offering neighborhoods a chance to publicly recognize their most valuable assets through a variety of award nominations.

Two opportunities unique to Fort Worth include:

  • The Danny Scarth Trailblazer Award – Recognizes a person who, in their everyday life, has raised awareness of living a life of value with a disability and made impactful changes in the Fort Worth community that improve life opportunities for persons with disabilities. Nominees must reside in the City of Fort Worth, their contributions must have a demonstrated impact in Fort Worth and they may not be compensated for their work with persons with disabilities.
  • The Fort Worth Neighbor of the Year Award – Recognizes an individual who has given outstanding service to improve and/or positively affect the lives of individuals in their neighborhood. The best candidate for this award may be referred to the “unsung hero” of their neighborhood. Nominee contributions must have a demonstrated impact in Fort Worth. Nominees may not be compensated for the service for which they’re nominated. Nominations may be submitted by a current board member of a City of Fort Worth registered neighborhood association. Nominees must reside within the association’s boundaries. Residents are encouraged to share their nominee suggestions with their neighborhood association leadership for a formal association vote.
