Progress Report from the Advisory Committee Chair
My name is Lana Sikora, and I have the pleasure to Chair the Advisory Committee (AC) for The Villages of Woodland Springs. The Advisory Committee and volunteer homeowners, along with SBB Management and the Developer, have been working together for positive changes in our community. The purpose of this article is to update you on progress we have made during 2007.
Safety & Security Sub-Committee-Chaired by David Davidson
David Davidson recently retired from his duties as Deputy US Marshal and volunteered to head up this very important Sub-Committee. Armed with other retired law enforcement committee members, this committee is up to date and on top of Villages of Woodland Springs security issues. If you would like to get in touch with David, please visit the Safety & Security page for contact information.
Budget, Finance & Expenditure Sub-Committee-Chaired by Peter Stamps
This committee was formed to better understand the expenses of the Homeowners’ Association (HOA). Recently, a Capital Funding reserve study was completed in order to identify the Homeowners’ Association assets, projected life, and expected reserves needed to adequately fund future replacements. The 2008 budget was also completed and for the first time, the BFEC was allowed to be a part of the planning process, another big step in a positive working relationship with the Developer. For Peter’s contact information, please see the Budget Committee page.
Community Calendar and Events Sub-Committee-Chaired by Lushane Carinci
Thanks to the many hours of work by this Sub-Committee’s Chair, Lushane Carinci, the official Homeowners’ Association Web site is up and running. A long road of research and development combined with feedback from the Developer, SBB Management, AC and the Sub-Committee Chairs, has paid off and the result is now the official Web site of the Homeowners’ Association for the Villages of Woodland Springs.
What can you expect from this Web site? Current events within our neighborhood and around Keller, information about the Sub-Committees, how to join and when they meet, and a Frequently Asked Questions page where a variety of your common and not so common questions can be answered. To contact Lushane, please visit the Community Calendar Committee page.
Landscaping & Grounds Sub-Committee-Chaired by Kelly DeGrado
There has been some reorganization with this group and Kelly DeGrado has done a wonderful job getting into the dirt. She has a great team of people that share her love of landscaping and they recently were out researching landscaping companies in the hopes to brighten up the neighborhood while watching the bottom line on budget. They are doing a fantastic job and you will be able to see their hard work throughout the Villages of Woodland Springs in the months to come. Please see the Landscape & Grounds Committee page for Kelly’s contact information.
